The vision of a developed India will be realized through innovation, research, and entrepreneurship: Prof. Anand Kumar Tyagi*


Varanasi *(IPS/BBC-India/Vishwavani Samachar)*. The first convocation ceremony was held in a dignified and historic manner at Harishchandra Postgraduate College on Thursday.

This ceremony marks a significant milestone in the college's academic history, conferring degrees to a total of 728 students who graduated in the 2022-23 academic year, including 587 undergraduate students with BA, BCom, BSc, BEd, and LLB degrees, and 141 postgraduate students from 12 disciplines. The faces of the students receiving their degrees clearly reflected confidence, pride, and enthusiasm for the future.

The chief guest of the program was Prof. Anand Kumar Tyagi, Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, and Dr. Sunita Pandey, Registrar of Kashi Vidyapeeth, was the special guest. A large number of teachers, parents, researchers, and dignitaries participated in the convocation.

Chief Guest of the Convocation, Professor Anand Kumar Tyagi, stated that convocation is a turning point in students' lives, marking the beginning of their journey to becoming not just degree holders but responsible citizens of society and the nation.

Recalling the intellectual tradition of Kashi, he said that this land has been not only a land of education, but also of thought and renaissance.

Referring to Bharatendu Babu Harishchandra, Professor Tyagi said that Bharatendu Babu gave voice to social consciousness and national pride through modern Hindi literature, and that students should draw inspiration from this tradition and connect knowledge with society, culture, and nation-building.

He said that the vision of a developed India will only be realized when the youth advance with innovation, entrepreneurship, research, and ethical values. Education should not be limited to employment, but should be made a medium to bring change to the last person in society.

In her address, special guest Dr. Sunita Pandey said that this is an opportunity for introspection and self-responsibility, and that students are in an era of global competition, where, along with knowledge, sensitivity, culture, and social responsibility are also essential.

She said that the consciousness of the Bharatendu era is still relevant today, because literature, language, and education have the power to guide society.

The guests were welcomed by the college principal, Professor Rajneesh Kunwar, and the chairman of the management committee, Mr. Om Prakash*, with robes and mementos. The college magazine, "Jyotishmati," was also released on this occasion. On this occasion, the college's NCC cadets, led by NCC Commander Dr. Ram Ashish, presented a guard of honor to the chief guest.

The program was conducted by Professor Richa Singh and Professor. Mamta Verma jointly delivered the vote of thanks, and the vote of thanks was presented by Managing Committee Chairman Pradeep Agarwal. He expressed his gratitude to the chief guest, special guest, all the faculty, staff, students, and parents.

All the faculty, staff, and students of the college were present on this occasion.
