Addressing the meeting organized at the central office under the aegis of All India United Vishwakarma Shilpkar Mahasabha, National President Ashok Kumar Vishwakarma said that Vishwakarma Puja Day on 17th September is a festival symbolizing the pride, self-respect and creativity of the society. He said that religious devotion and social identity of Vishwakarma society is associated with this festival.
Discussing the public holiday of Vishwakarma Puja festival in the meeting, the speakers said that the struggle will continue till the government does not declare a public holiday. It was decided in the meeting that Vishwakarma Puja will be celebrated with pomp and show across the state as Sankalp Diwas for public holiday and district wise officials have been given responsibility for the success of the campaign 'Send letter to the Chief Minister' from 1st to 10th September demanding public holiday. The National President informed that a target of sending one lakh letters from across the state has been set. He has called for the participation of the people of the society in this campaign.
