Association to submit memorandum to District Magistrate on August 12th
Varanasi. A workshop on the Indian Protection Act, organized under the auspices of the Indian Advocates Association (IAA), was formally discussed. The workshop was held on Saturday, August 8th, at the residence/chamber of Dr. Sultan Khan, Advocate, in Bahadurpur-Padav, Chandauli district. A large number of advocates, along with all the office bearers of the association and members of the management committee, were present. On this occasion, speakers openly expressed their views on the Advocates Protection Act, emphasizing that advocates are a part of society that prevents criminal activities and prevents criminality. Furthermore, advocates are a segment of the nation that is constantly striving for justice, and therefore, the safety and protection of advocates is essential.
While presiding over the workshop, Dr. Arvind Gandhi Advocate, President of the Association, said in his presidential address that due to violence against advocates, violent incidents, getting them implicated in false cases and illegally filing of fake and fabricated FIRs by the police, oppressive actions etc., there is always a risk to the life of advocates even while pleading in criminal cases etc. In such a situation, both the safety and protection of advocates are important. In such a situation, Advocates Protection Act should be implemented immediately as has been implemented in Telangana, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and other states, it should be implemented immediately in the entire country including Uttar Pradesh.
Association President Dr. Arvind Gandhi Advocate said that on the question of the interests of advocates and their security, the subject of mutual coordination and mutual respect between the judicial officers i.e. both the Bench and the Bar should also be included in the Advocates Protection Act, so that the respect of both is maintained and a situation of conflict does not arise, therefore, restrictive arrangements should also be provided to the judicial officers.
The entire workshop program was conducted by the Central General Secretary of the Association, Mr. Rakesh Kumar Gupta Advocate. And it was unanimously decided in the program/workshop that on the issue proposed in the workshop, a memorandum regarding the implementation of the Advocates Protection Act in the entire country including Uttar Pradesh will be submitted through the District Magistrate Varanasi addressed to the Central and State Government on Wednesday, dated 12/08/2026. Prominent people present at the workshop included organisation head Akhilesh Kumar Gupta, Gyanendra Nath Sharma Advocate, Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Ashwini Kumar Singh Advocate, Rajkumar Yadav Advocate, Baldau Advocate and prominent media person Rajkumar Singh, Mrs. Soni Chakrawal along with a large number of advocates and journalists.
